The New York State Early Intervention Program (EIP) is part of the national Early Intervention Program for infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families. To be eligible for services, children must be under 3 years of age and have a confirmed disability or established developmental delay, as defined by the State, in one or more of the following areas of development: physical, cognitive, communication, social-emotional, and/or adaptive. Early Intervention is provided at no cost to the family. STAR EIP LLC is a quality-driven, and family centered Early Intervention agency, providing services in all the boroughs of New York City. Star EIP LLC is an approved Early Intervention agency as a provider of the Early Intervention services, and is under contract with the municipality to deliver these EIP services. Providing family-centered services whereby EI providers recognize, respect, and support the central role that a family plays in their child's life. These services are selected in collaboration with the parent/guardian, in compliance with the NYSDOH and NYCEI standards, and are provided by qualified personnel (i.e. licensed/certified in their respective fields).
The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is a public program funded by New York State and county governments for children under the age of three who are either suspected of having, or who are at risk for developmental delays or disabilities. Potentially eligible children must be referred to the county program to receive EIP services: New York City – 311. All EIP services are provided at no cost to parents. Health insurance may be used for approved services. A child's eligibility for the program can be determined only by state-approved evaluators under contract, and all services must be authorized by the county. If a child is found eligible for the EIP, all needed early intervention services are identified in collaboration with the parent and must be authorized by the municipality. The municipality will arrange for service providers, considering the individual needs of the child and family, to deliver services authorized by the municipality. When early intervention services are delivered in child care settings or community locations that require a fee, the parent is responsible for paying any associated costs with such access to child care or community locations.
